Beauty: January Favorites
I always look forward to putting together this list at the beginning of each month! I feel like with so many beauty products in the rotation, its hard to get a good feel for what you love immediately after the first use. Let me know in the comments if you try any of these products or if you’ve fallen in love with something I should know about!! (Aff Links Included)
Chantecaille Retinol Hand Cream - ($78) Ok now hear me out.. I normally would roll my eyes at this price point for a hand cream, but this is on my favorites list for good reason. You know how people freak out when they find their first grey hair? Well, I had noticed my first sun spot on my left hand in early 2020 and nearly had a full emotional breakdown and then acknowledged that it is totally normal and I am still just as beautiful as before I had the sun spot. Fast forward to the holidays and my best friend, Scott, had mentioned he bought this overprice hand cream with retinol that he puts on religiously every evening. I thought what the heck, I’ll give it a go. It has now been three weeks and I swear to goodness my sun spot is nearly gone. I am THRILLED. Apparently lots of other people are thrilled as well because it is sold out on every site I looked for it at except this one. I apply in the evening and then apply hand cream with sunscreen during the day. Reminder: The problem with hyperpigmentation is if you do not protect your skin from the sun, the darkness returns almost immediately. That means all the good work this hand cream does is instantly reversed. The SPF I’m currently using is SuperGoop Handscreen.
Odacite Rose + Neroli Hydra-Vitalizing Treatment Mist ($42) *gifted* - My nighttime skincare routine is one of the moments I look forward to each night. I’ve “suckered” my husband into letting me apply some to his face as well. Over the last month he has fallen for the night time routine as he basically gets a free facial every day. Both his and my favorite part of the routine is a facial spray which concludes the routine and gets us ready for bed. Sleep has been all over the place and a gentle heavenly scented mist sets us up for more restful evening. It is the little things! Odacite uses certified organic ingredients and doesn’t test on animals but maintains such a luxurious vibe. 10/10 Recommend!
Face Halo Set of Three Reusable Makeup Removing Pads ($22) - I talked about this in the beginning of quarantine (April of 2020) as I was searching for more sustainable ways to remove makeup. As a Makeup Artist, I went through SO many disposables and I am trying to make up for the garbage that I created by no longer creating that same garbage. Enter the Face Halo Pads. Over 200 uses then you can RECYCLE them. I don’t understand what is in these magical pads, but they take off ALL the makeup. Without any makeup remover on them. Mind. Blown.
Kitsch Microfiber Hair Towel ($23) My cousin purchased this for me over the holidays and I must say its one of the best gifts I could’ve been given. I tend to hold off on washing my hair because the idea of going to bed with it wet at night is just awful. The pillow gets soaked which leads to me freezing then I flip the pillow thinking it will warm me up but the other side then absorbs the rest of the water from my hair all the while my hands, which are nestled under the pillow, are now freezing cold and it is just a mess. Now, after washing my hair, I wrap this little thing around my head and the elastic/button combo keep it in place. This not only gives me frizz free hair the next day, but I no longer have a fight with my bedding every time I wash my hair. Use the link above and automatically receive 20% off. (Aff Link)
Fresh Seaberry Skin Nutrition Cleansing Oil ($43) - I was influenced to buy this through social media and I haven’t been disappointed! This cleanser melts down make up (you apply it to a dry face) and doesn’t leave my skin dry and uncomfortable in the winter. Also, it looks beautiful in our shower and aesthetics mean a lot in this household!
