Home: Half Bath Dark & Dreamy Makeover

Our half bath has been quite an eye sore for me since the day we moved in three months ago. To be quite frank, I didn’t even use this room because of how much I couldn’t stand being in it. The previous owners of the home had a professional crew come and paint some of the spaces a flat white to erase some of the technicolor choices they made prior to prepping it to sell. This made the space quite boring with the exception of the mismatched cabinet/faucet/towel rods that were all from the original 1999 build. (Pictured here)

I had the house to myself for a few days and decided to get to work! My husband is a trooper seeing as I asked him to help demo the bathroom the night the evening before leaving to a work trip. Thats how we all prepare for a trip, right?

My inspiration came from the restroom in a restaurant in Manhattan that I have frequented over the last four years. The space was small, dark, and dreamy. I absolutely HAD to mimic this in our small space. (Yes, I just described a bathroom as dreamy) This is also the restroom that guests will inevitably use when we are allowed to have gatherings again.

With a gallon of leftover Rainforest from Behr, I had been wanting to use this somewhere else in our home and found this to be a perfect space. (This swatch really doesn’t do it justice. Its a much richer green than the Behr website shows.) I slapped it on the walls, changed the light fixture and got to decorating. Of course the decorating is of my favorite things to do, a trip downtown to visit all the gorgeous boutiques housing the most beautiful selection of small knick knacks was just what we needed. I hope you guys enjoy!
